Monthly CPD training for consumer loans officers in Australian Financial Services Businesses

Credit providers in Australia are obliged to ensure their staff are adequately trained. Loans officers who provide credit assistance to consumers should have no less than 10 hours relevant training each year; those with a housing loan component in their book are required to have not less than 20 hours. This training is designed to provide 10 hours relevant training per annum.

Credit News consists of 10 high quality, self-contained newsletters per year(each with a quiz) dealing with regulatory issues and changes, as well as industry and economic developments relevant to consumer lending, including home lending.

A careful reading of the newsletter, consideration of its contents, and completion of the quiz represents 1 hour of CPD activity; with completion of the 10 modules constituting a total of 10 hours of CPD for the year.

We consider 20 hours to be an appropriate suitable minimum number of hours of CPD to undergo each year for representatives who provide home loan credit assistance. ASIC Regulatory Guide 206.98
